Sahara Sands

The Sahara desert is an austere yet beautiful place if you open your mind to it.  The dunes are constantly shifting and changing under the force of the relentless winds.  In my career as an exploration scientist in ARCO Oil & Gas working on seismic exploration projects I spent the equivalent of a year’s worth of time in the Sahara region of central Algeria.  This series of images was shot during that time with my Mamiya 645 Pro system.  Each of them a fleeting moment in time never to be recreated again.
